Located in a Northern suburb of Chicago, B.C. Dog Training Club, LLC has been serving dog owners and the community since 1979 when we were originally known as Better Canines through Instruction, Inc. Cathie Sabin, owner of B.C. Dog Training is a Professional Member of the IACP. Our enrollment has been a proven tribute to our methods with over 5000 dogs being trained each year with clients coming from as far away as Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa.

B.C. Dog Training's classes are designed to teach you how to train your dog, and while you will be the dog's teacher, both of you will be our students.

The approach to training your dog, which you will be taught, has evolved over many years of study and experience. It consists of demonstration and reward and has become known as 'Shaping'. The theory is, you cannot correct a dog for something it does not know, it must be shown the correct way to do your bidding.

To achieve the best results from our shape training philosophy, classes are held once a week. You will receive written handouts recapping the new exercises covered in each class and by practicing an average of 15-30 minutes per day both you and your dog will progress at a comfortable and fulfilling pace. Depending on your particular breed and the characteristics of the individual dog, will determine the proper length of time and number of repetitions necessary.

We limit our class sizes to 15 dogs with 1 lead instructor and up to 4 assistants allowing us to give individual attention as needed.

If you would like to observe our classes and methods, you're always welcome to stop in and watch at any time, no need to call in advance, we have an open door policy.

B.C. Dog Training provides a safe and healthy atmosphere for the health and well being of all our wonderful friends. We require a written verification from your veterinarian for all current innoculations, and boosters but most important must include: Bordetella (kennel cough), Rabies (tag number and copy of certificate). This is required of each dog over 6 months of age. Puppies under 4 months of age will be required to supply proof of rabies innoculation by the end of their puppy class. Any dog without proof of Bordetella will not be allowed to participate after the 1st week. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

B.C. Dog Training is Licensed by the State of Illinois Department of Agriculture as a Daycare and Boarding facility. We are inspected twice a year, passing every time. B.C. Dog Training is a member of the Illinois Better Business Bureau and belongs to the Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills Area Chamber of Commerce (GLMV).
